Reverand Anderson, from the Church of Scotland, replaces Reverend Jillian Storrie who has represented the Church of Scotland since August 2024.

Following Reverend Storrie’s decision to step down from the position, the Church of Scotland nominated Reverend Anderson to become one of the religious representatives on the Education Resources Committee.

Lyndsay McRoberts, the council’s Executive Director of Education Resources, said: “Church representatives have a wealth of expertise and experience and provide the committee with the support and encouragement that reflects our community’s values and expectations for the standards and breadth of education we provide for our young people.

“I am delighted that Reverend Fiona Anderson has been appointed to take on this role and I am sure her contribution to the committee will be as highly regarded as that of Reverend Storrie over the last few years.”

Under the terms of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, an education authority is required to appoint religious representatives from the Church of Scotland, the Roman Catholic Church and a third religious representative from churches and denominational bodies in the area.
